My Approach
My counselling approach is person-centred, which means I work in a non-directive way, with whatever is most important to you at the present time. I aim to offer a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space for you to talk about your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I will listen to what you say with empathy and understanding.
Together, we can explore issues, relationships and situations which may be causing stress and anxiety. Counselling can help you to process difficult emotions to become more empowered to make changes within your life. It may help you to gain a better understanding of yourself and others. It may help you to increase your self-confidence and resilience to manage stress and anxiety. I realise that some situations are complex and not all situations can be changed (such as a bereavement). Whatever you are going through right now, counselling is a space where your voice will be 'heard' with compassion and respect.

I warmly welcome clients with disabilities. I offer a ground floor counselling room for face to face sessions and have one small step at my front door. Please contact me to discuss individual needs.
The First Session
It is natural to feel nervous about starting counselling and I do understand this. The first session is your opportunity to explore how counselling works and how it may help you. You are welcome to ask any questions about the counselling process and to discuss anything that you are unsure about. Counselling is always taken at your own pace and without judgement. You will be listened to with respect and compassion. Confidentiality will also be discussed.

The fee for the first session is £25.
